O álbum traz uma sonoridade totalmente diferente dos discos anteriores. Aqui temos algumas instrumentais, e canções com gravações de guerras.

Os singles foram "The Catalyst", "Waiting For the End", "Burning in the Skies" e "Iridescent", que fez até parte da trilha sonora do filme "Transformers: Dark of the Moon".

A parte visual do disco é bem bonita. Comprei esse álbum assim que ele foi lançado, e foi um dos mais caros que eu já comprei até hoje! rs

O encarte vem em formato livreto e é bem grossinho (não tanto quanto o do Meteora, mas ainda assim não é bom ficar retirando ele muitas vezes). Tem as letras das canções, e as informações do álbum. Além de imagens bem diferentes.
